Privacy Policy

Vortex Solar Energy Private Limited ("Vortex", "we") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect when you use www.vortexsolar.in, the Vortex app and our services, why, and your choices. We process personal data under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

What we collect

When you ask us to call you: your name, mobile number, PIN code, your monthly electricity bill and what you tell us. When you become a customer: your address, electricity connection details (consumer number, DISCOM), documents needed for the PM Surya Ghar subsidy and net metering (such as your electricity bill, identity and bank details for the subsidy), photographs of your roof and installation, and payment records. From your solar plant: its generation, status and alarms, read from the inverter's monitoring service. If you choose to share it, your plant's exact location, to tell an area power cut from a fault.

Why we use it

To call you back and advise you; to design, quote and install your plant; to file your subsidy and net-metering applications on your behalf; to watch your plant, raise service requests and send a technician; to check your electricity bill when you ask; to run referral rewards; and to meet our legal and tax obligations. We do not sell your data.

Who we share it with

Only those who need it to serve you: the government's PM Surya Ghar portal and your DISCOM (for subsidy and net metering), the installation partner and technician assigned to your plant, banks or lenders you choose for a loan, payment providers, and the service providers who host our systems. Each is bound to use it only for that purpose.

Calls

Calls with our team and our phone assistant may be recorded to improve our service. By leaving your number you agree that we may call you about rooftop solar; tell us at any time and we will stop.

Cookies and measurement

Our website uses Google Tag Manager (with Google Analytics) and the Meta (Facebook) pixel to count visits and measure our advertising. They set cookies in your browser, and Google and Meta process data about your visit under their own policies. You can block or delete these cookies in your browser's settings; the website works without them.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become customers are kept for up to 2 years. Customer records are kept for the life of the plant and its warranties (up to 25 years) and as long as tax and subsidy rules require.

Your rights

You may ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, or withdraw consent, by writing to gosolar@vortexsolar.in or calling 1800-180-5554. Users of the Vortex mobile app can also ask for their app data to be deleted on our Delete App Data page.

Security

Your data is stored on secured servers in India; passwords, bank details and portal logins are encrypted; staff see only what their work needs.
